Marriage licenses are issued by the Clay County Clerk of Court and

 Marriage licenses issued in Clay County are only valid for

marriage ceremonies conducted in the state of Florida.

 Written application required: parties must file a signed

affidavit before a clerk who administers an oath (reciting

true/correct ages of the parties), unless both parties are

over age 18, except as provided Florida Statute 741.0405.

 Application is not complete until both parties appear in

person at the Clerk’s Office, even if application is done

online at clayclerk.com; follow instructions on website.

 Marriage License Application Fee = $86 (less if premarital

course completed; additional fees may apply)

 Premarital Statement Form is required for all couples and

must be signed in front of the Clerk at our office.

 License is valid for 60 days after issuance; 3-day waiting

period required for Florida residents unless premarital

class completed and proof of class completion is provided

prior to issuance.

 Marriage license must be certified and filed with Clerk’s

Office where issued within 10 days of the ceremony.
